Mayfair residents would have paid good money to keep news of this fabulous North Indian eatery from leaking out to hungry tourists. Unfortunately, resistance was futile, especially in regard to a place whose chic atmosphere and creative fare continually set new bars for excellence. The entree lineup includes murgh makhni (tandoori chicken in creamed fresh tomatoes with fenugreek leaves), achari bhindi (fresh okra tossed with onions, garlic, and pickling spices), and seasonal faves like grilled chunks of king fish in a marinade of ginger, chilli, yoghurt, ground spices and vine leaves. 2-course lunch prix fixe £17, 3-course £19.
